Founded 1976 by Wayne and Harmina Richmond; acquired by Country Grocer (Island Independent Buying Group Ltd.) in February 2023 as part of the Richmond family's succession plan. Four stores in Ladysmith, Chemainus, Cedar and Duncan. The 49th Parallel website (the49th.com) now redirects to countrygrocer.com. [1][2][3]
