Mixed model. Per Metro's 2024 Annual Information Form, each Metro / Metro Plus store is either operated by a Metro subsidiary (Metro Richelieu Inc. in Quebec, Metro Ontario Inc. in Ontario) or by a franchisee or affiliated retailer under a franchise or affiliation agreement. Metro acts as retailer, franchisor and distributor for these banners. As of September 28, 2024 there were 68 Metro and 122 Metro Plus stores in Quebec and 132 Metro supermarkets in Ontario. [1][2]
