Independent South Asian grocery chain, 100% family-owned and operated by Ravinder Narula and family. Narula bought a small Vancouver grocer (Singh Foods) in 1991 and later took over the Surrey-based Sabzi Mandi banner (the supermarket business was established in the mid-2000s). His wife Varinder, son Aman and daughter-in-law Jasleen run procurement, operations and customer service. Around 14-15 locations across Western Canada, including stores on Vancouver Island. [1][2]
