The Old Farm Market
private company · HQ Canada
Independent Vancouver Island grocery/produce market chain, Vancouver Island owned and operated since 1986 (Downtown Courtenay business profile; corroborated by multiple Vancouver Island outlets). Owned by Lorne Campbell, a Victoria-area businessman (also owner of Budget Blinds in Victoria, with real-estate development interests) who is a son of the late Alex Campbell Sr., co-founder of Thrifty Foods. Campbell bought the original Old Farm Market business and land south of Duncan (2017) and subsequently expanded the banner; The Old Farm Market is operationally separate from Thrifty Foods (now a Sobeys/Empire banner). It operates three stores on Vancouver Island: Duncan (5164 Francis St., Koksilah/south of Duncan -- the original location), Oak Bay (opened December 2019, Estevan/Cadboro Bay Rd.), and Courtenay (660 England Ave.).
