Independent, 100% locally owned and operated grocer based in Campbell River, British Columbia (Vancouver Island). Per its own website it is '100% Locally Owned & Operated' with no parent company. The business is owned by the Nicholas family together with partners: brothers Brent, Chris and Don Nicholas, along with Martin Jager and Adrian Farmer (Campbell River Mirror, 2016). The Willow Point store has deep local roots -- originally established in 1939 as Adam's General Store, the current building was built in 1967, and the store later operated as a Lucky Dollar before the Nicholas brothers (the second generation of their family to run it) renamed it Discovery Foods; the Nicholas brothers and their partners took over around 2012. It operates two neighbourhood grocery stores, in the Willow Point area of Campbell River and at Oyster River. [1][2]
