Independent, family-controlled Italian specialty food importer and grocer in Vancouver. Founded in 1957 by Augusto Bosa (who had imported Italian foods to Powell River since the 1930s-40s before relocating to Vancouver); Augusto died in 1993 and the business passed to a second and now third generation of the founding family, with Bruno Benedet Jr. serving as president and CEO. The third generation built a 54,000 sq ft distribution centre and flagship retail store in 2006. Operates two Metro Vancouver retail locations (1465 Kootenay Street and 562 Victoria Drive, both in Vancouver). [1][2]
