Askew's Foods is an independent, family-owned and -operated grocery business based in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, trading under the slogan 'Quality & Service Since 1929.' It traces its origin to 1929 when Dick (R.B.) Askew became general manager of / purchased the Salmon Arm branch of the A.E. Palmer & Company provision business. Ownership and management have remained within the Askew family across four generations: founder Dick Askew; his son Lloyd Askew (who led the company through much of its growth and built the present Lakeshore Drive store, opened 1967); Lloyd's daughter Karen Angove (took over management in the early 1990s); and Lloyd's grandson / Karen's brother David Askew (General Manager since 2007).
